COVID Catch Up Premium
Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). Those from the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds are among those that are hardest hit. The aggregate impact of lost time in education will be substantial, and the scale of our response must match the scale of the challenge. The government announced £1 billion of funding for 2020/21to support children and young people to catch up.
Cardinal Allen received £63,840 over the course of 2020/21 to best meet the needs of our pupils. To support schools, the Education Endowment Foundation has published guidance to summarise evidence based best practice to make up for lost learning and, in using this, this was our plan for 2020-21
In light of continued disruption to schooling, evidenced by the abandonment of several of the planned actions, the DfE announced that any remaining Covid Catch-up funding (£20,076) can be rolled forward to 2021/22.
